FISHING – the hotel owns the fishing rights on two stretches of the finest Trout fishing rivers in Ireland, The Suir and The Aherlow. Both rivers, particularly the Suir also have good Salmon fishing. The hotel has its own appointed professional Ghillie (Fishing Guide) who will meet you at the Hotel and take you to the best stretches of the river on the day and ensure a successful day to all guests He is also available for fly casting tuition both single and double handed and will also provide tackle & equipment if necessary, and any relevant permits at an additional cost.
SHORT WALKS - can be taken around the beautiful Gardens - there is also walk called “the Bishops Walk” which brings guests right to the world famous Rock of Cashel and the Bro Boru Cultural Centre.

INDOORS - You can sit back and relax with a selection from our small library of books or a board game in the drawing room by the crackling log fire.

HORSE RIDING: Is available locally by arrangement.
GOLF: Full sized golf courses including Dundrum, Thurlus, and the famous Jack Nicholas designed Mount Juliet are only a short distance away - preferential rates can be arranged.
COUNTRYSIDE: Guided walks are available for guest and are based in the famous Glen of Aherlow. You can choose from The Galteemore Walk – Ireland’s highest inland Peak, The Commeragh’s or the Knockmealdown walking routes. Our walking tours give you the freedom to set your own pace as you can choose from easy to strenuous which ever level suits you best. GDS and Digital Map Courses are provided.
GARDENS: Including The Cashel Palace Garden. Close by is The Celtic Plantarium in Dundrum, which has 60,000 plants containing over 2,500 species of tree, plants and shrubs; miles of paths and walkways; waterfall, fresh water lakes many with decorative fish. Their Celtic theme items include Crannog, dolmen, fairy fort and a reconstructed cairn. Also locally are Clogheen Gardens, the beautiful stream-side setting, and the spectacular scenic backdrop of the Knockmealdown Mountains gives a sense of absolute tranquillity. An informal garden of great beauty and a veritable paradise for all who appreciate nature in its truest art form. Sheltered by strands of mature pine and oak, the garden extends to c12 acres of exotic plants, meandering streams and sweeping lawns with delightful surprises at every turn....
THE ROCK OF CASHEL: A spectacular group of world famous Medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale including the 12th century round tower, High Cross and Romanesque Chapel, 13th century Gothic cathedral, 15th century Castle and the restored Hall of the Vicars Choral. Attractions include an audio-visual show and exhibitions.
BRU BORU: is a national cultural centre at the foot of the Rock of Cashel. This cultural village is designed around a village green and is a home to the study and celebration of native Irish music, song, dance, and theatre and Celtic studies. Nightly shows during the summer months.
OTHER TOWNS OF INTEREST: Kilkenny Medieval City is Ireland's Medieval Capital with its 12th Century Castle and cathedral, abbeys and many leading craftsperson is the perfect destination for a day outing. Also within easy reach of the hotel are the towns of Thurslus, Clonmel and the historic town of Cahir.
